The Dress

I LOVE this dress and the thought of preserving it in a box, at the back of my wardrobe just doesn’t seem right. This dress shines and for that reason, it needs to be enjoyed… not stored in a box!

I would love someone to be able to wear this dress and experience all the joys I did when I wore it. The compliments were endless and I have never felt more beautiful.

This dress is the Avril Gown by New Zealand designer Rue De Seine.

The Avril Gown is inspired by brave, bold, daring women. It has an all over dramatic Cornelli Lace, with placements designed to flatter the figure from all angles. Cut out details on the train and sleeves, low back, full skirt and train

We got married in Australia, in December 2017… it was HOT, but even with the long sleeves, I didn’t feel too hot. I wore the off-white silk slip on our wedding day and wore the nude silk slip for our New Zealand wedding celebration. I loved being able to wear this dress twice and play with a completely different look, while getting most of the one lace gown.

I had the dress & slips professionally dry-cleaned after each event. I was nervous about this process, so used the dry-cleaners that Rue De Seine use for all their testing (Regal Drycleaners). The money paid to have it done professionally by a trusted business, has been worth it as the dress has come up beautifully.

There are very small marks around the hem, due to being worn however these are hardly noticeable (even when you look) and you can’t see them when the dress is on. There are also tiny pulls and tears in the mesh around the hem, again hardly noticeable and you can’t see them when the dress is on.

The dress has been professionally cleaned and packaged with care.

My measurements:
- Height: 166 cm / 5.5 feet
- Hollow to Floor: 140 cm / 55 in
- Bust: 96 cm / 38 in
- Waist: 85 cm / 33 in
- Hips: 94 cm / 37 in

Alterations:
- Slips straps shortened & taken in around the hips (as per my measurements)
- Length shortened for my height.
- Bustle added
