About the Dress

This dress was incredibly flattering, and created such a beautiful bridal silhouette, I'm still amazed when I look at the photos. I am a size 16 (who comfort eats!), and the excitement of getting married was never going to allow a pre-wedding diet. The back of the dress is a lace-up corset which allows for last minute weight loss and gain, which really removes extra stress you won't need! The dress would easily a 12-16 size, as the corset can be tied much tighter (see photos) The dress also has a built in bra and the strap is really secure, so there is no fear of the dress falling down.

The sweetheart neckline is really flattering and pretty, and the fabric of this dress is amazing. The top layer is tulle with beautiful beaded applique lace, and under that there is a layer of sequined tulle which provides some subtle sparkle. The base layer is satin and there is net to give the A-Line shape. I wore a hoop-which I will pass on with the dress. I tried on probably over 50 dresses and the subtle, classy sparkle of this one, and the way the fabric fell just blew me away. The train is chapel length and looks fabulous in the photos, I have had bustle put in, so you can hook it up when you want to be a little more free to move around. The bustle is a very simple thing for a seamstress to change, should you want to.

I had a second dress for the evening so I only wore this one for the ceremony and reception/photos. The only alterations I had was the length, and all the seems have an inch or so to let out-but I didn't need any of them altered as the corset took care of that! I am 5'4" and wore 3 inch heels, and the dress was cut to touch the floor. (so should fit someone up to 5'7" in flats!)
