Timeless Lace Wedding Dress – Flattering and Thoughtfully Altered

I searched high and low for a dress that felt timeless, truly bridal, yet still suited to an intimate garden wedding. This gown exceeded all my expectations! Its silhouette is incredibly flattering, featuring a delicate waistband and a corseted internal structure that beautifully cinches the waist. It has an elegant trail of buttons down the sleeves and the back. The Chantilly lace, accented with very subtle sequin details, adds a modern touch and a light, ethereal quality to the dress. I was looking for something with lace that didn’t feel overly “curtain-like,” as I often found with vintage styles. This lace is, without a doubt, the most beautiful I have come across.

The Bardot sleeves give the dress a romantic look. Having tried many dresses with this type of sleeve, I found that most Bardot styles restricted arm movement. To ensure comfort and mobility, I sized up slightly and had it tailored in. This adjustment allowed me to move my arms freely—perfect for hugging everyone and fully enjoying the day! My brother, who has a keen eye for tailoring, accompanied me to every fitting. Together, we made thoughtful tweaks: adjusting the lace to lay just right, adding a discreet bustle in the most flattering spot, and layering an extra lining for modesty in sunlight while maintaining the dress's light, ethereal feel.

This dress was paired with a 100-year-old family veil, which I restored. That said, the original retail veil, along with other modern styles, also looked stunning when I tried them on and would complement the gown beautifully if desired.

Condition: Excellent. The gown has been professionally cleaned by the dry cleaner recommended by the Elie Saab flagship store in London, where the gown was purchased and altered. I also have all the original packaging. There was a small, unnoticeable inch-long rip at the hem, but it has been professionally restored by the same trusted company and is now completely invisible.

This dress holds so much love, and while parting with it isn’t easy, I would love for it to be loved by another bride. Price is negotiable for someone who truly loves it, as I believe it carried me through our special day and would love for it to do the same for another bride and her love story.
