The Dress

I absolutely loved wearing this dress on our special day and would love for it to make someone else feel special on their wedding day. As well as feeling really confident in this dress, I was also comfortable in it the whole day (even though it was a very hot August day!).

I had originally been looking for a simple, fitted wedding dress, but I fell in love with this one as the fitted underskirt creates a sleak silhouette that can be seen through the transulcent overskirt, which brings a bit of drama to it! The underskirt is beautifully embroided, and the bodice, straps and upper part of the overskirt have even more intricate embroidery as well as beading. The beading is stil in perfect condition.

For sizing, I am 5ft 2, so 5ft 6 in this dress with the 4 inch heels I was wearing. Although the dress was labelled as size 6, I usually wore a size 8 on the top half and size 8-10 on the bottom half.

I wasn't sold on the bows on the shoulders at first and was going to get them removed, but I'm glad I kept them as I really liked them in the end and it makes the dress a bit more unique. I did get some other alterations done though. The back of the bodice is still seethrough, which shows off the embroidery and beading, but the front of the bodice was originally the same, with just the cups covered. I decided to get a white underpanel added to the front of the bodice to feel a bit more covered, but this could be removed. I also changed the cups in the dress so they fitted well without a bra and added a bit of padding. I am a B to C cup, but you could swap them for smaller or larger cups if necessary. The seamstress added a discreet ribbon and loop at the back of the dress and train to create a bustle so I could tie up the train in the evening. She also added a small white bow to the back of the dress to hide the fastening.

Unfortunately, there is a small tear in the bottom of the overskirt. I had this repaired but the skitching is visible on very close inspection. It would be very difficult to spot this when wearing the dress, but I wanted to let you know! I have set the price much lower than the website recommended to adjust for this too. Otherwise, the dress is in perfect condition and has been professionally cleaned.

I'm going to be sad to part with this dress, but we are making space for our new baby on the way. I hope someone else loves it as much as I did!

Alterations

As mentioned above, I had added B-C cups, a bustle, a small bow to cover the fastening at the back, and a white underpanel over the bust area but kept it seethrough at back.
