The Dress
Story behind the dress. My wedding was scheduled in September 2020 and COVID happened. I had my save the dates to mail and kept delaying every week hoping this would change. Eventually the save the dates went in the trash. Big wedding canceled. I did do the whole wooo is me thing. I had just been a brides maid three times prior to my scheduled wedding and was so excited. We lost all our deposits to vendors because we couldnt reschedule. We honestly couldn't even think about pressuring them to give back the deposits because we knew the social entertainment industry was about to be hit hard. COVID weight gain prevented me from wearing this dress. I also decided to jump from one extreme to LETS HAVE A BABY! It happened too fast. Our daughter is three years old now.
I am happy that we ended up with a small backyard wedding. At the end of the day, the most important part was the fact that we still have our health and our family. #blessed
I did buy the dress for $775 asking for $600. Funds are going towards the purchase of my SHE shed for my business!

The Dress
OVERVIEW:
I absolutely loved this Maggie and Sottero ballgown wedding dress, and I received tons of compliments on my wedding day! The dress style name is Micah, and the matching veil included is by Bel Aire, style #V7388. For reference I am 5'10", 190lbs, 38DD bra size, and in-between a dress size 14/16 usually. I felt really confident in this dress because I had some extra weight in my tummy that I felt was camouflaged well by the flare of the dress. I also loved how unique the crystal and pearl detailing was on the top, as well as the criss-cross back. I will include Maggie and Sottero's description below as well as a link to the stock photos, as they will further show close-ups of the beading as well as the unique criss-cross back. Our wedding and the dress was also featured in an article by Utah Bride & Groom Magazine, so you can check out even more photos of the dress if desired from the website link below.
FIT & CONDITION:
I was able to fit into a size 14 dress in this brand because it really isn't that form-fitting aside from the top, and Maggie and Sottero tends to run big generally--however, in other dress brands I typically wore a size 16. I usually wear a size 14 in pants for reference. One thing to keep in mind is that the beaded top of this dress is heavy and there definitely is a lot of fabric. I wore a low-backed corset under the dress and I thought this did an excellent job helping keep the beaded top looking form-fitted and from sliding down (it also made the girls look amazing lol). Also, I am 5'10" and the dress was a touch short on me to be honest. I wore flats and was totally happy with the length--but I would be cautious getting this dress if you are taller than 5'10".
The dress has been dry cleaned and put into a preservation box. It is a BIG dress and it was a struggle for the cleaners to fit it in the biggest of preservation boxes, so once removed you will likely need to press but not clean it.
DANCING:
When it came to dancing later in the night, I personally chose to change into a short white dress because ballgowns are naturally bigger and wider. That also means the dress is in very good condition because I only wore it for the ceremony, pictures, and dinner. I had no problem otherwise dancing in it though, and dress did great for the father-daughter dance and my first dance with my husband.

MAGGIE SOTTERO:
This princess wedding dress features a bead and Swarovski crystal-encrusted bodice atop a tiered ballgown skirt of tulle and horsehair. Double spaghetti straps glide from the V-neck into a crisscross pattern over the scoop back. Finished with crystal buttons over zipper closure. Detachable beaded belt sold separately. Available in plus size.

Alterations
The only alteration I made was to make the straps ever so slightly shorter. Nothing else was altered, and this can be easily reverted if desired since the straps were not removed or cut.
