The Dress

I wore this beautiful dress at our wedding in October 2023. When I found it in a London wedding gown boutique, I knew it was the one! I wore it mainly for the second part of the big day.  

This stunning gown allowed me to have two looks, and I loved wearing it. I received so many compliments on this one-of-a-kind piece, and I hope that it will make another bride feel as special as I did!

When I found this gown, I knew I had to wear it because it looked like something I had only dreamed of. It’s hard to let it go, but I do hope to pass this gem on to make another bride look and feel like a queen!

Alterations

When I found this two-piece gown with an overskirt, I realized it needed some work. Beads needed to be resown into both the dress and overskirt. I got a bustle added to the main gown to pin it up for later in the night. They hemmed the gown, and I lost some weight, so some alterations were done to fit me nicely. I paid approximately £500 for the work.

I was approximately an 8-10 UK size for the wedding. I am a DD-cup and did not need to wear a bra, as there was wiring, and the material was thick. But you could easily add padding if you want to. We added some of the left-over lace from the hemming of the gown in the middle bust area to make the dress a bit more conservative (if preferred, this can be removed).

The dress was tailored by a recommended fashion designer and alterations professional who knew exactly what to do. The tailor brought in the dress at the waist/hips and fit more snuggly at the chest.
