The Dress

THE DRESS:

This is a customized Elle gown from the fall 2023 line, purchased directly from the Monique Lhullier boutique in Manhattan. I had (fully detachable hook and eyelet) straps added by the boutique! There is one photo shown where I had not yet put on the straps so you can see what that neckline option looks like.

The dress has pearl buttons lining the back of the dress dress from the top to the very bottom of the wonderful train. So beautiful and I loved the detail.

There are two dancing photos so you can see the dress after the bustle was done up.

THE WEAR:

The gown is so beautiful I hope someone else can enjoy it. Very minimal wear, as although I wore it outside it was a beautiful very dry day so not a lot of dirt! Not yet dry cleaned, so I included images of the bottom where it is dirtiest, and as you can see, wear is hardly noticeable and could probably be improved by a clean if you wanted. Wanted to list before sending out to a cleaner tho!

THE PRICE:

The original price listed is the retail price of the gown before tax and alterations and the addition of the straps.

Alterations

SIZE: This is a Monique Lhullier label size 4, but was altered down to be closer to a ML 2. The alterations could of course be let back out a bit by an excellent seamstress.

WAIST BELT: The internal structure of the gown is a very sturdy corset. A waist belt was added during alterations for extra security.

STRAPS: Detachable straps were added, as detailed above.

LENGTH: My height in shoes was 5'7. It was hemmed to kiss the floor at that height.

BUSTLE: Beautiful and secure bustle was built in to pull up the WONDERFUL train.

The alterations were all completed by Monique Lhuillier’s in house seamstress.
