The Dress

Hard to find! Unique dress from the Moonrise Canyon collection. With a bow and sweatheart top & a full a-line tulip skirt, letting you show off your legs and shoes while still having that full dress look. she is dreamy and comfortable, and HAS POCKETS! The balloon sleeves ARE REMOVABLE so as to have a ceremony and dance look. Definitely changes the dress vibes. See alterations. Although it’s strapless it feels secure with corset boning. Im usually between a size 4-6 US (120 lb and 32C/34b) and didn’t have to alter this dress for bodice fit. Also if you’re on the smaller side like i was, fashion tape worked wonders She travels very well. Had to crunch up on the plane and didnt need anything except hanging up for a couple days when we got to Mexico! When I brought to dry cleaner after my wedding he said it was the cleanest wedding dress he’d ever seen! Got it professionally cleaned in case I didn’t see anything. **There are some small things to note that might need some love: (see video for details and ask for detailed photos if needed) 1)the stitch that holds the bodice to the skirt on the right needed extra support, so seamstress added a second one, but might just need to redo it. Easy. 2) on the back left under the back clasps, might need to redo the sticking although not super noticeable. 3) there’s some small stitches coming out slightly at the bottom of the zipper, easy fix

Alterations

*****No alterations were made on the bodice or hemming of the main dress (only slip got hemmed) 1) We wanted to get a bustle made for dancing but with the pleats it wasn’t possible so instead my seamstress created three near invisible small white loops on the train that attach to a wristband when desired to lift the dress. A bit heavy for the wristband alone but gives you a good grip on the dress and keeps the longest part up. Made dancing in it a breeze! 2) She hemmed just the inside slip to my height with heels, about 5’9. Didn’t have a problem dancing or stepping on main dress (unaltered). She said main dress should stay unaltered, and that a long flowy look was best versus altering it. Since its a tulip skirt, it fits almost anyone hieghtwise she said. 3) She also added an extra support stitch on the right side of the bodice where it attaches to the skirt for extra support, this has a safety pin in it now to support in transit, but could possibly need extra support stitch. 4) Additionally, she added little clear snaps that attach the sleeves to the dress which were nice so that the sleeves could be removed for dancing! Originally the sleeves weren’t removable, but had a small string attaching them to the dress. So this gives you options!
