The Dress

The Metilda gown is inspired by Australian native flora. Its organza overlay is beautifully embroidered with eucalyptus flowers and gum blossoms, the fabric created with a Parisian textile designer. As a big nature lover / bush walker, this was a such a special and unique feature for me.

The ivory silk underlay and fitted bodice + slightly fuller skirt made it incredibly comfortable to wear all day and night (no shapewear required!) The spaghetti straps, square neckline and lowered back give the design a lovely modern balance.

This dress was purchased as a sample in perfect condition, just with a slightly shorter train than the regular design (RRP$6,710). It’s been professionally dry cleaned but has some slight discolouration on the inside of the hem after a very rainy wedding day.

Alterations

Minor alterations: front hem brought up to wear with 4cm heels (small train kept at the back), and straps shortened by a few centimetres. I can pass on the details of the Prea James recommended seamstress who was very affordable if needed.
