The Dress

I loved my dress and felt very elegant in it. I wanted a style that was timeless and would still look good in years to come when I look back at the photos! The figure hugging dress and low back makes you feel sexy too, in understated way. The fabric is a lovely thick crepe so it shows of your curves without clinging in the wrong places. The dress was really comfortable and easy to move around in. At the reception I hooked up the French bustle so I didn't have to hold up the train.

I'm 164cm (5'4") and wore 56mm (2.2") heels.

Care:
I've hand washed the dress. Because the fabric is not delicate, it doesn't need to be drycleaned.

Condition:
The dress is in really good condition. I've had a good look and I can't see any marks on it. There's a couple of tiny 'pockmarks' in the fabric on the train - not that easy to see but I'm happy to send photos - and some pilling on the satin fabric underneath the train from sweeping on floor but this is obviously not visible when you're wearing it. The three little hooks on the back of the dress for hooking up the train have a bit of their white coating missing. You could replace these if you wanted to :) Again, happy to send photos of anything.

Alterations

- Cups lightly sewn onto the lining on the inside of the dress (can be easily removed)
- A thick wrist strap added to the underside of the dress and can be hooked around your wrist to easily hold the train off the ground (can be seen in one of the photos waiting to go into the church)
- A French bustle has been added with 3 little hooks on the back of the dress so when dancing or moving round at the reception you can hook the train up and keep it off the ground if you don't want to hold it up anymore (see photos)
- The hem has been let out, with a ribbon sewn on the inside for weight so it sat nicely. There's a fold line at bottom on the front of the dress (from letting out the hem) - I didn't think it was that obvious so it didn't bother me. I can send more photos.
- Minor adjustments for fit: taking in at the underarms, hips and back darts slightly, letting out the waist a touch. The seamstress said she left enough of the seams so that it can be let out again if needed.
