The Dress

Stunning ‘Sierra’ dress by Australian designer, J Andreatta - purchased from Amare Bride Atelier in the UK and handmade in Australia.

Worn at my Australian wedding last October (2023), the item is truly unique and I have been the only bride to wear this from the designer, equally it was ‘made to order’ (handmade in Sydney) for me and to my size with bespoke details I added as a custom request (below) meaning this is a one of a kind item that differs to the sample gown.

The dress features a boned corset body, coupled with a pinafore-style criss-crossed back, delicate pocket detail and a beautiful a-line skirt. The embroided ivy is also delicately hand sewn on which is incredibly beautiful.

The dress was made to my size and also features custom elements which I added to make the dress more bespoke - this includes:

1. An extra layer of silk for the skirt
2. Light blue top stitching across the corset and front button section (adding a very subtle twist to the original dress with my ‘something blue’ embedded into the gown itself)
3. Additional hand-sewn embroidered ivy added to the waistline and across the pinafore straps

The dress is made from 100% silk and is incredibly light and comfortable to wear - even though I had an extra layer of silk added to the skirt for a bit more volume, it didn’t add to the weight of it and instead just enhanced the beautiful silhouette which I didn’t regret after getting my photos back!

As pictured, the dress also has several beautiful buttons on the front and back, allowing you to adjust the height of buttons at the front if you wish to have more or less knee visibility (I wanted a romantic, casual and European feel to my whole look and opted to have quite a bit of the buttons at the front undone so my blue shoes could be visible).

At the time of being measured (2022) I was a true UK 8 and by the time my wedding came around I was closer to a 6 (in 2023) in the waist but still an 8 in the hips. Please peruse the dimensions I have supplied - I have just had a baby so I can’t easily measure myself truthfully now! I am also 165cm tall and wore the ‘Loeffler Randal Camelia’ heels which have a heel height of 3.5”.

The item has been professionally dry cleaned by a specialist bridal service near London, Terrington Burchett. I used the ‘Elegance Cleaning package and Classic Design Preservation’ service to ensure the dress is wedding-ready for its next owner so it’ll come in a bridal box along with its original packaging and labels. This service was very thorough, taking 3 months and costing £245. Please see photos of the item cleaned in its bridal box ready for a new home.

Kindly note this item has a few tiny marks on the hem of the skirt (very small/slight) and on one button. I can send a few pictures to show that these are smaller than a petite pinky fingernail and could be removed (I didn’t want to intervene as I’m not very good with this stuff!). Because the train is quite long it’s not visible and could easily be hemmed off if needed. I changed into a reception dress so this item was only worn from 2pm - 7pm and is in stunning condition.

I am based in London and I am happy to ship this anywhere using only DHL. The cost of postage will also include insurance for the item to ensure it’s fully covered while in transit - shipping is approx £100/$200AUD (if it goes over this I’ll cover the difference).
