The Dress

Morilee - Lorelai, designer wedding dress.

It is feminine and romantic in abstract floral patterned, embroidered net. The A-line silhouette floats off the body with a delicately draped bodice and sheer plunging neckline that draws the eye downward for a lengthening effect. The front skirt slit adds movement to the gown and billowing detachable bishop sleeves are a whimsical touch. The dress also has pockets which I loved.

Colour is advertised as Ivory/Latte/Honey - the underlay is a nude Latte/Honey colour with the Ivory abstract floral patterned embroidery net over the top.

I fell in love and bought this sample dress in full as I couldn’t risk it being sold to someone else but then decided on an a different dress which was a very difficult decision! I still think this dress is gorgeous and believe it will be absolutely perfect for someone. I’m gutted that I can’t keep both but can’t afford 2! I personally would have worn the dress without the sleeves but as the sleeves are detachable it’s great to have the option. The sleeve attachments are cleverly hidden.

The dress is unaltered and in my opinion does run bigger than a usual size 10 item of clothing that it was retailed as. The inside label is all perfectly intact. I would have had to get the bodice taken in but it fit nice and snug around my waist - I don’t have a size 10 waste, I’m a standard size 12 which is why I noted that in my opinion the size does run big. I’m 5 ft 7, and the length of the dress at the front was just right when I tried the dress on with 3 inch heels.

The only flaw that this dress has throughout is the hook and eye at the back that sits at the top of the zip to prevent the zip from coming down. The hook is still intact but the ‘eye’ is missing. This can easily be fixed by yourself or your seamstress. When I tried the dress on, the zip did not come down but I’d recommend for this to be secured for your wedding day. There are no other flaws throughout. It is unaltered so it can be tailored to fit you perfectly.

I only bought this dress in March of this year 2024. I can’t find confirmation of the year that this dress was designed/made but it is still listed on Morilee’s website and I have taken a guess that it was designed last year 2023 as the bridal shop put it in their sample sale to make room in the shop for some new 2024 designs that they had purchased.

The dress full price was £2750 and I bought for £2000 as a sample dress. Selling for £1320 which is the suggested price on this website.
