The Dress

The Olsen dress is a strapless corset stye dress made from silk crepe, with statement sheer organza sleeves. It wears as an off the shoulder long sleeve dress.

It was custom made by the designer with an a-line skirt (as opposed to a column skirt). It was further altered to fit my shape, which is smaller up the top with larger hips. It was comfy to wear though i unexpectedly lost a little weight in the lead up to the wedding, so the strapless design slipped a little (you'll see it in photos). If altered closer to the date of wedding, expect it to fit very nicely with its corset style top. I especially like the free flowing skirt and felt unrestricted eating and dancing the night away.

It has been dry cleaned twice, and has a few very small marks around the bottom of the dress. One of these is shown in the images above and happy to share any more photos on this as well. As i am quite tall, additional hemming would mean these would not be visible.

Alterations

Designer alternations included a split size dress - size 10 bodice and size 14 skirt. My actual measurements were closer to size 4 bodice and size 14 skirt. The extra size was to allow for alternations to be to my shape. Note I am smaller up the top, with larger hips, which means there is extra room in the skirt. Additionally had a pattern change - which was the fitted skirt swapped for the Mimosa a-line skirt.

Alterations post designer creation included sizing to fit my shape at the time of my wedding. Plus a discreet level of tule added to the skirt to help the dress sit out in a nice a-line shape.
