The Dress

The dress of my dreams will be yours too! This dress found me after I tried on dozens and dozens. It’s a classic Galia Lahav with signature illusion back, stunning lace with very light and subtle beads/sequin in an ivory color. The stretchy fabric is undeniably flattering and comfortable (with a stretchy spanx-like lining that even hid my tummy!).

Originally $14k purchased from Bridal Reflections 5th Ave in NYC.

The subtle sparkle made me feel special but not over the top. We were married in a romantic candle light ceremony which gave the gown a little extra shimmer.

The illusion back is seemingly invisible but it does cover the full back and upper shoulders. It’s stretchy and surprisingly strong- though the dress is backless I didn’t feel exposed. It was a nice balance with the more covered front of the dress (and a dramatic wow factor during the ceremony!).

For those who don’t love an exposed back, a talented seamstress can easily add extra appliqué to the illusion backing for more coverage or a long, back-drop necklace - which is a nice way to really add glamour and make it your own).

The train of the dress is chapel style with a custom French bustle.

It has been stored in a smoke free and pet free home.

We had a perfect day and have been happily married ever since- this dress has great juju.

Alterations

I had minor alterations made such as adding a bit of appliqué to add slightly more coverage to the back, and over the cups to make the underwire /bra-like effect more subtle and a hem (I am 5’1 and wore 3 inch heels). After wearing there was a very minor tear in the lining where the back meets the side which I had professional repaired by a talented seamstress. She also cleaned very minor discoloration alongside the inner bottom lining of the dress.
