The Dress

A beautiful, romantic style dress. Sheath silhouette, sweetheart neckline, spaghetti straps, and a keyhole cutout in the back. Material is stretch satin. Scroll lace overlays across the bodice and down the back and sides of skirt. The long, 5 pointed train is definitely the star of the show! Paired with a veil of equal length, this dress is dramatically breathtaking for your walk down the aisle.

This dress hugs your curves in all the right places, and the lining helps create a smooth and seamless look. The boning and lace work down the sides accentuate the waist and hips to create an hourglass shape. The dress was surprisingly lightweight and the stretchy material was ideal for all day wear and non-stop dancing. I was able to squat down, bend over, and jump around with ease. The material also provided peace of mind in the weeks leading up to the wedding; the fabric is stretchy enough that fluctuations in my weight were not a concern. The elegant scroll lace is soft to the touch and does NOT scratch up or chafe your arms. There are small, sparse sequins in the lace work that give the bodice a bit of shimmer, but would not be considered sparkly.

The only damage following wear is as follows:
- Very light staining around the hem of the lining. Staining is completely contained to the under layers of the dress, and it is not at all visible when the dress is on.
- Some button covers fell off. It was not at all noticeable during the event. Buttons were added during alterations, and may be removed if not desired. Dozens of spare buttons will be shipped with the dress for replacement. A photo of the missing button covers is included (photo #8).

Alterations

The following alterations were made to the dress:
- Fitted through bodice. Bust, waist were taken in, hips were let out.
- Straps were shortened to provide better fit.
- Hemmed for height. I am about 5 feet 3 inches, and wore 3 inch heels. The dress hit at floor length.
- There was a plunge illusion as part of the neckline (photo #7 shows original neckline). This was closed up for a better fit.
- 7 hook bustles were added to keep the train off the ground at the reception (photo #6).
- Buttons were added. Dozens of the same buttons will be shipped with the dress to replace missing button covers, or add more (photo #8).
