About the Dress
'Beautifully crafted in Italian crepe, Mine Forever wedding gown has a refined yet impactful silhouette. The sleek boatneck bodice tapers to a fitted waist, and the wide A-line skirt flares into a dramatic train. The back is framed by scooped neckline with slim elegant straps.' (Mine Forever description taken from Caroline Castigliano website, The Power of Love collection 2019')
Custom made dress for my country wedding in 2020, which unfortunately had to be postponed but took place in early autumn 2021. It is actually technically a size 11 (i.e. between a 10 and a 12) as Caroline Castigliano is able to make the measurements that precise, but there wasn't the option of in between sizes in the dropdowns so I have selected a UK size 10. I am just over 5ft11" and usually wear a size 12 and chest size 34C. I bought the dress from Pure Couture in Beaconsfield who were previously a Caroline Castigliano stockist and had almost no alterations to the dress as it fitted perfectly.
I loved wearing this dress and felt so comfortable in it all day. It fits really well and comfortably and has a clever stretch corset inside which laces up at the back and isn't visible from behind. What I also loved about this dress is that I was able to change its look throughout the day. So I wore a custom made lace "jacket" for the ceremony (also available for an additional cost if desired) and then took this off and added a sequin belt (also available for an additional cost if desired) for the evening and dancing. It meant I was able to change the overall look very easily.
Whilst I would love to keep this dress, I have decided that I can't justify it sitting in a box for the rest of its life so would love for another bride to be able to enjoy it as much as I did. I did have it dry cleaned by Terrington and Burchett shortly after the wedding and on the whole it has generally come up well, it has then been stored in a protective box since. However, as should be noted as shown in some of the pictures there are some marks where some Aperol was very sadly spilt on it but it has faded significantly with one trip to the dry cleaners. The dry cleaner used a very gentle cleaning process, but I do wonder if a slightly less delicate cleaning process might remove the stains completely, although I can't be sure. They are mainly down one side and one on the chest area so if you were interested in customising the dress and adding some lace, for example, then this would likely cover them. Very happy to send additional photos if helpful, just let me know what would be useful. The two photos at the end are recent pictures of the dress and (as is probably obviously) they are taken by me rather than a professional photographer!
Local pick up available from London or Buckinghamshire or happy to ship it too.
