The Dress

I am selling my beloved Justin Alexander gown so that someone else can hopefully experience the joy I felt while wearing it. The design pairs a simple, crepe "tank-top" like bodice (with flexible boning) with a tiered tulle ballgown skirt. Each layer of the skirt is finished with horsehair trim so that it keeps its shape. The dress bustles for the dance floor! The covered buttons on the back add a elegant, polished note. To me, this dress was classic and modern with a twist. I felt so comfortable wearing it.

The dress was altered from a bridal size 6 to my measurements, see below. I added the silk ribbon belt, but it could be removed by a seamstress. Dry cleaned ($500 value). I also had one of the pieces of horsehair trim that got snagged on my wedding night repaired by a professional seamstress and it looks good as new (I am pointing to it after repair in the photo).

Alterations

The dress was taken in at the top of the bodice to make the torso shorter, and taken in slightly at the waist. All alterations were less than 1 inch from the measurements listed above for a bridal size 6. Dress was ordered "short," so it came 57 inches in length. I am 5 feet 2.5 inches tall and wore it with 4.5 inch heels (making me 5 feet 7 inches when wearing it). Instead of the Justin Alexander belt, I attached a silk ribbon, shown in the photos. Dress would ship with the ribbon but it could be detached if desired.
