The Dress

Genuine Alexandra Grecco Alda gown, made to order in NYC and shipped to the UK for my wedding.

I wore this on our wedding day this Summer and have never felt so elegant and feminine. The fabric is a beautiful silk crepe, the skirt has 3 layers to it so it has a lovely weight and flow to it. The bodice/neckline is very unique, it has boning under the bust for support, the embroidered sleeves are absolutely devine, it has a scoop back with button up detail, it hugs you in at the bum, but then flares out so you can move easily in it.

It was professionally altered by the seamstress at the bridal boutique - the hem was shortened to fit my height (159cm, wearing a 7.5cm heel) and the sleeves were gathered to shorten them so they finished at my knuckles, however no fabric was taken off the sleeves and I imagine the gathering could be carefully undone to lengthen the sleeves again if wished.

The dress has been professionally dry cleaned. There are faint stains on the underside of the skirt at the hem which aren't noticeable when worn. It is otherwise is excellent condition.

I had originally set out to buy a pre-loved wedding dress to keep the impact on the planet low - but I had *that feeling* as soon as I tried this dress on and I knew I couldn't wear anything else. I truly loved wearing it, and so it deserves to be worn again and loved by another bride. I'm selling it on in an attempt to help another bride keep their wedding planet friendly!

Alterations

Hem shorted to suit my height (159cm + 7.5cm heel)
Sleeves have been gently gathered at the forearm to shorten them, no fabric was cut from them though and so this can be easily unpicked to lengthen them again
