The Dress

NEVER WORN - Purchased three years ago.

The moment I put this dress on, I knew it was my dress. I was dress shopping with a friend who was also looking for dresses. Both of us have lost parents, so this was a tough thing for us. When we chose our dresses and put them on together, a bottle of champagne spontaneously popped. No one was touching it or even nearby - it was in her bag. We took it as a sign.

Fast forward three years since the purchase of the dress and my fiance and I have put our wedding on hold indefinitely, so it's time to let go. My body has changed enough that this just isn't my dress anymore.

Measurements are from when I got the dress altered, and what is pictured. It fits like a glove and I feel absolutely BEAUTIFUL in it. Having worked for Disney, I have high princess standards and this dress fits them. The lace detailing is stunning, and so unique. I'm not a flowery-type of girl, so the geometric pattern makes it feel feminine, but not overtly so. This feels like the dress you could walk down the aisle in, no matter where the ceremony takes place, and you could also throw on some Chucks and dance the night away at the reception. You could even head to an after party at your nearest Taco Bell, if that's your cup of tea. It feels like the perfect balance of formal and casual. It's made of lace, but it feels sturdy enough that you can enjoy your evening without worrying about it.

I'm bummed that this isn't my dress anymore, but I'm hoping someone can give it the love that it deserves!

Alterations

SLIGHT alterations - brought in around the shoulders and bust, but not by much. This was a pretty perfect fit, as soon as I put it on. Does need alterations to be finished (no bustle).
