The Dress

Back in 2016, I searched high and low for my perfect dress - something timeless and romantic with a little zing of whimsical bohemian flavour. Finally I found the ‘Ariel’ dress by Australian designer, Grace Loves Lace.

Made of beautiful high-quality fabric, with a feather-light, floor-length ivory silk chiffon skirt with 40cm train, stretch French lace ivory-coloured bodice, and beautifully detailed dainty eyelash lace cap sleeves.

Due to the bodice stretch fit, this gown is probably one of possibly one of the most comfortable yet truly beautiful options available. The stretch fabric construction also means you are far less likely to need any alterations for a perfect fit.

Although the wedding did not proceed, I loved my dress so much that I have kept it, unworn and in pristine condition however it is now the time for it to get its special day in the spotlight and find a new home.

As a result of the style and construction, this dress is suitable for a variety of sizes without any alterations needed.

Per the size guide, the gown formally sits under the M-L size range. I was a size 12-14 at the time of purchase, and the sample I tried on in store was an 8-10, and looked and felt no different from the gown I purchased in the 12-14, apart from it being very slightly firmer/tighter on top so based on this, I would think this gown would be suitable for a size 10 through to a size 16 depending on bust size. Possibly a size 8 with a larger bust, however altercations to make smaller shouldn’t be an issue due to the nature of the construction so a professional seamstress should have no problems making tweaks if required.
