The Dress
I wanted a very simple dress, and I found it! I wanted to look elegant (and please my family) while not feeling overly "bridal."
I found this dress at a very cool wedding dress shop in Berkeley that specialized in natural material gowns and also sold consignment (which I was originally hoping to buy!) But then I tried this one on and nothing else quite compared so I bit the bullet.
It is handmade in Portland, Oregon out of fair-trade silk. The dress was $2790 plus $240 in tax plus $500 of alterations $50 for bridal breast pads and a bridal cleaning for $160. All in this dress costs $3740, it looks as good as the day I bought it!
Would love for it to go to a good home. Ask me any questions!
I know that in the photos I was carrying the train with the train hook a lot (partially because I was getting married on our farm and didn't want to ruin the hem and partially because it was just so easy and comfortable to have it gathered.) The train is a little more than floor length. Just enough to be elegant but not so much that it is hard to walk or overly glamorous.
The alterations took it from a size 6 to a size 4 dress sizing. The general cut of dress is bias cut so your exact measurements don't totally matter. It is loose enough to accommodate sizing close to 4 on either end.
