The Dress

Saying goodbye to my beloved Daughters of Simone wedding dress. I was married in Cancun and believe this has the perfect "destination wedding" look. The dress has a very romantic feel with the ribbon straps blowing in the wind. But the most stunning aspect of this dress is easily the back. The open scoop down to the low back, accented with 3 cloth buttons is absolutely gorgeous. This dress is lined, and not see-through, as I have seen some versions out there that are the latter. At first I marked the dress "excellent" because it truly is in excellent condition. Even the bottom skirt of the dress is extremely clean. The only sign of wear I can find is on the back of the ribbon straps where they sit on your shoulders/chest. There is some very light makeup that rubbed onto them. It may be able to be removed, but I don't want to take the risk of ruining the fabric. And you may choose to wear a little cover makeup on your chest on the big day too! To be clear, this part of the straps is not seen as it is on the backside and sits against the skin. The front part of the straps that are seen are very clean, no signs of wear. I’ve included a closeup photo of the ribbons. As you’ll see, the wear is barely noticeable, but it’s important to me to be as honest and upfront about any imperfections that I’m aware of.

The adjustable ribbon straps make this dress even more adaptable to your size. The bottom hem is the original length. According to the designer, it’s perfect for someone 5’9 or shorter. I actually could have used a few more inches length as I’m 5’11. But a plus for you, as the gown did not receive any wear on the bottom because of this.

Beginning with a nude charmeuse satin liner on the bodice with an ivory eyelash lace overlay, and a soft chiffon lining throughout the skirt. Website states MEDIUM sizing to be: Bust 36”, Waist 28”, Hip 38”, Length of Shoulder to Hem (front) 63”. A SMALL is stated to be Waist 26”, Hip 36” which is noteworthy as I had these areas sized down/taken-in slightly.

Alterations

1. Waist & Hips were brought in by an inch or two, would fit more like a size 6 in this area.
2. Bra cups size B/C sewn in very lightly, can easily be removed, if desired, as seen in pictures.
3. Small Hook & Clasp for bustle. Invisible to the naked eye when train is down. Clips very easy and sturdy for a nice bustled look in back for the after party!
