The Dress

This dress made me feel so beautiful and classy on our wedding day! It’s a modified version of the Kelly Faetanini Ayah dress that’s made for The Bridal Room bridal boutique in McLean, VA. Instead of the skirt being fit and flare, it’s A-line, but otherwise it’s the same as the Ayah. The fabric is crepe, so it was flowy and swayed when I was walking and dancing, which was really fun! I added a crystal belt that was hand sewn onto the waist to give it a little sparkle, but that could be removed if you wanted. One of my favorite features is the very open back and deep V neckline, which made me feel sexy even though the style of the dress is really classic. The row of fabric covered buttons down the back and train is also so pretty, and even better since it’s a zipper closure and you don’t need to hand button any of them!

The dress was worn once on my wedding day and has since been dry cleaned, as the underside of the train got pretty dirty at my outdoor ceremony and photos (stains all came out great). The dry cleaner missed some small spots on the first cleaning, so I decided to have it cleaned a second time, and now it’s completely spot free and like new! As much as I loved this dress, I don’t want it to sit in my closet unused, and would love for another bride to feel as beautiful wearing it as I did :)

Alterations

The seamstress shortened the straps, added boning for support, sewed in cups (which could be removed or changed), hemmed the dress to skim the floor for 5’3” height, and added an American bustle.
