The Dress

We got married overlooking the Great Rift Valley, in Africa & when I saw the back of this gown, I KNEW this was too perfect!!! I felt like Goddess!!! I ordered this stunning & SUPER comfortable gown from Grace Loves Lace. I wore it for maybe 2 hours total & our wedding consisted of only our 4 kids & 2 friends so we didn’t have some crazy reception or anything! I am 42 & not 24 so I wanted to find something that was appropriate & made me feel magical! I did!! We traveled to Africa with my gown in tow & the best part is that it literally can’t wrinkle!
I am only 5’4” & knew I’d have to walk outside on a cliff so I had it hemmed so that I could wear a lower heel but I still started with a 4” heel & then changed to Birkenstocks! 😂 This did cause for me to drag the dress a bit on the ground so I am having it cleaned right now & they said they would be able to get rid of any marks or stains that may have happened. There may be a few snags on the very bottom lace that would be touching the ground due to the outside terrain but they assured me they’d repair anything to their best ability!
I did measurements at home based on Grace Loves Lace’s requirements but I was sure to over measure by a bit just so I could have it taken in vs trying to fit into something!

Alterations

I had it altered once I received the gown but it could have still been taken in a bit for my size 6 (full C cup) body. This dress could EASILY be taken in more or worn as is as it literally just lays on your body so beautifully! I paid $2k for the dress & $500 for alterations. I didn’t have any cups put inside the chest but that could be done very simply. The alteration options for this are somewhat endless because of its simplicity!
