The Dress

I bought this dress used from Cherie Sustainable Bridal in November 2021 before my April 2022 wedding. I tried it on in February of 2022, and, unfortunately, it no longer fit. So, although it was bought used, I didn't end up wearing it for my own wedding. I didn't make any alterations to the gown myself, but I'm not sure what alterations the previous owner made. The listing price at Cherie Sustainable Bridal was $725, but I bought it within a day of trying it on, so it was discounted to $636.

It is a very elegant, size 6, ivory sheath gown. The outer dress is tulle with white floral embroidery that starts at the top and trails off toward the bottom of the dress. The floral embroidery is interwoven with flowing, beaded lines that taper to the midline and down in Vs, giving the gown a very "early 1900s"/"Art Deco" feel. The embroidery stands out over the ivory underdress, allowing the white to pop against the ivory. The dress has a V-neck with wide straps made with just the tulle layer of the gown. The tulle back of the dress clasps at the back of the neck, upper back, mid back, and low back, creating three keyholes. Twelve round silk buttons close the dress from the low back down. The dress has a removable nude layer connecting to the built-in cups, allowing the wearer to show more or less skin around the ribs through the tulle as they so choose. It has a small train, and the bottom edge of the dress is lined with the same floral embroidery detail.

The only flaws are a few spare threads here and there and some missing beads around the top of one of the shoulders.
