The Dress

This is the Rime Arodaky Lison dress from her 2022 collection. I orginally bought the dress from The Mews in Notting Hill in London in April 2022, and wore it to my wedding in February 2023 in Cape Town.

I felt absolutely incredible in the dress on the day! As soon as I tried it on, I knew I had to have it and whilst I thought it was the most beautiful dress I had ever seen, everyone else seemed to agree too. I had so many compliments specifically about the dress on the day and afterwards too.

The dress is super flattering with a deep, pearl-lined V-neck and a tulle panel to about halfway up the 'V' at the front for modesty. The sides are also very low cut and have the same tulle panel. The back is stunning! Completely backless, it is also lined with pearls. The large bow is the showstopper and attaches to the dress with four little hooks at the back so you can take it off for dancing. The ribbons of the floor trail to the ground and the bottom of them are also lined with pearls. The slit at the front of the dress comes to just above the knee.

I am 5ft 10 (177cm) and wore 4cm heels on the days, so 181cm in total. I am a standard UK size 8 (please see my measurements) and the dress is a FR 38.

There is a small mark on the back of the bow. It's hard to tell if it's a smudge or a mark and thankfully, it's at the back of the bow so no-one will ever see it. The dress has been dry-cleaned but we decided not to try and remove the smudge any more to protect the fabric.

I also have the original Rime Arodaky black bag, gloves and hanger that came with the dress.

Alterations

I had fairly basic alterations done to the dress: taken up slightly, lifted at the shoulders and nipped in a little at the waist.
