The Dress
This was the wedding dress of my dreams! It was the first dress I gravitated to online when I was starting to look, and after trying on a ton of other styles, there was no question that this was the one! I can't tell you how many people have told me it was their favorite wedding dress they've ever seen. The Eliza is absolutely timeless in it's elegant, minimalist, yet sexy design. No overcomplication here - just clean lines hitting all the right places, truly allowing the person wearing it to be the center of attention on their special day. The gorgeous organic silk flows like waves in the ocean - perfectly heavy but airy and extremely breathable. I got married in Hawaii and felt so comfortable all day despite the heat - the slit helped with that too, letting a little extra airflow in! I did make some slight alterations to this dress, both in sizing and in design. The dress is a size 6 but I had it taken in a bit to fit me perfectly. I'm 5'7 and when I wore this dress at my wedding I was about 132 lbs. I wore the dress with 3" heels so overall it was hemmed for a 5'10" height. I also had the slit opened up an inch or two to show a little more leg, and the biggest alteration I made was to bring the off-the-shoulder petal sleeves in a bit. I loved the way the sleeves hugged the model's arms in the official photos of the dress on the Leanne Marshall website (the first two photos shown in this listing). However, if you google the Eliza dress you'll find a lot of photos of brides wearing it who didn't alter the sleeves, and you'll see they're much more loose looking. The looser sleeves allow for full range of motion with your arms, but I really didn't like that style as much so I had them taken in to be more fitted. This does restrict your arms a little bit - you won't be able to raise your arms up above your head - but it didn't bother me at all and I got the look I wanted. I had a fun dress change anyway for dancing later in the night. If you're a Leanne Marshall fan, you'll know she decided to leave the bridal industry last year to lean back into design focused more on inclusivity, gender-neutrality, and sustainability, so this beautiful wedding dress was one of the last ones she made. The only way to get it now is to buy it secondhand! It's really hard to part with it because I love it so much, but I don't want it go to waste sitting in a box in storage, and I definitely don't want to ruin it by cutting it up to turn it into an anniversary dress. I want some other lucky person to get to wear it and feel like an absolute goddess in it like I did. Let me know if that's you!
Please note, I had this dress professionally cleaned by a company that specializes in wedding dress cleaning and I'm happy to provide the certification as proof. I also bought this dress brand new from Lovely Bride in Seattle WA, so it's only been worn the one time by me.
