The Dress

The most beautiful dress - comfortable, bohemian, flattering. The original description was "Chantilly lace and chiffon gown with tiered skirt and criss cross straps". The back of the dress is really eye catching but the front is equally beautiful. Two layers, the lining layer is a soft jersey. The back zips up with covered buttons all the way up. I wore this on a very hot day in Ibiza :-) I can honestly say I was comfortable all day and into the night.

The dress has been hand washed, according to the instructions, and is unmarked. It's been stored in a dress case and a storage box. I can't see any damage or marks or anything to note, bar a tiny marked section on the very bottom of the chiffon. It's where the dress hits the ground, would never be visible when worn. (Plus it may wash out with a little stain remover. It's such huge advantage and cost saving, having a dress that can be washed! Also means that you could wash it before wear and obviously after too). I wore minimal make up and no fake tan so no danger of those sorts of marks remaining. Happy to send photos of this or any other details, just drop me a message.

The dress was extensively taken in - the shop I ordered it from insisted on ordering me a size 12, even though I thought I would fit a size 10 better (perhaps they wanted to make money on the in-house alterations... be warned!). The lady who did the alterations was incredibly experienced so all alterations have been done properly. We added padding to the bust, shortened the length (villa wedding with stone patios and floors so I really didn't want a train or length dragging on the floor. I wore flip flops, not heels, at 5' 7" tall). The alterations lady didn't cut all the excess fabric from the inside (standard practice for wedding dresses I believe) so there is the possibility of making the dress bigger again. Or smaller :-) She removed the top layer of the lace and then re-stitched it so the pattern is still even, symmetrical and beautiful.

I have quite a few pieces of the lace that were removed from the bottom and will include those with the dress.
