The Dress

This beautiful matte ivory silk Alexandra Grecco Prisma gown was a dream to wear on my wedding. It is real silk, and you can really see and feel the difference in the way it hangs and flows. It's a really luxurious dress to wear. The v-neck is incredibly flattering and adds to the long, elegant silhouette, creating a great balance between a simple, classic slip dress, and something more striking for a wedding. The train, low back, and fabric-covered buttons really add to the specialness of this dress as well. The dress already has a bustle.

While I wanted a simple silhouette, I was nervous about showing any bumps and bulges, and because of its simple design, this dress can be tailored to fit like a glove, while skimming over anything you don't want to share. Even if you don't share my exact measurements, you are likely to find an excellent fit in this dress if you have a great tailor, and there is plenty of room in the hips.

The simplicity of this dress allows it to take a range of styles in accessories. I did a romantic look for the ceremony with pearl drop earrings and a simple veil and added a chic, modern Veronica Beard linen double-breasted blazer later in the evening to accommodate the October chill.

This dress has been professionally cleaned by the tailor. I'd love to hang on to this dress, but it is priced to sell because I simply don't have the storage! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more pictures!

Alterations

This dress was altered down about two sizes. I originally ordered this dress in a split size to accommodate a smaller top (top is closer to 8 in size) and wider hips. The hip area is open (closer to an A-line style) and can accommodate a range of hip sizes, or be altered for a more fitted look. We added a row of buttons down the back (ornamental only), and a bustle. There are no cups in the top, but can be added -- though boob tape is your friend here!
