The Dress

‘Elena’ size 14 in the new 2023 Elopement collection by Karen Willis Holmes. This was the first dress made of this style this year, so it could be easy to re-sell if needed after your wedding given the collection is so new.

The wide shoulder straps made my waist look slim which I loved, as did the lovely the belt. The key hole back made the dress so comfortable to wear as I never needed to re-adjust straps the whole day or worry about dancing.

This dress has the bustle of my dreams - tucked neatly underneath to allow for dancing, which was very possible (see photo twirling).

The fabric was like a weighted blanket, not too heavy to be annoying but heavy enough to cover unwanted bumps.

Spanx can also be wore underneath to waist height.

Dress has been freshly dry cleaned 2 days after the wedding.

Dress RRP is $4,555 incl alterations (normal alterations package through Karen Willis Holes is $890 plus extra for the hem to be re-done at $100 per hour). Asking for $2,000 for the dress.

Alterations

I had $1065 alterations through Karen Willis Holmes to:

-take in the bust and waist so the size is roughly between a size 12 and size 14;
- put in bust cups put in so a bra isn’t needed;
- re-do the hem to remove a bit of the sides of the train so that dancing is easier and I didn’t trip during the reception. None of the hem from the back of the train was taken in however so the train still was long for photos.
