The Dress

I LOVED wearing this dress. It was extremely comfortable and cool for a South African wedding and I felt like a princess wearing it.

The bodice is mikado constructed with exposed ‘corset’ seams and a modern crew neckline, and the skirt is layers of soft tulle. Note that I wore a hoop skirt under the dress which I bought separately. It has a low back with matching mikado buttons and a semi-cathedral train. Extra buttons, label and bag all come with the dress.

Alterations

The original dress was a size 12 and I had it made smaller and shorter by a professional wedding dress maker. She also added a built in push-up bra (34C) which can be easily removed.

I wore a hoop skirt under the dress which I took off at the reception. I liked how small it made my waist appear, but the dress is just as beautiful without. If you opt to wear without a hoop, the skirt will be much longer and you will have more material to play with. I no longer have the hoop skirt but these are easily and cheaply sourced.

Note: I did not buy the detachable sleeves that the dress is advertised with on the Pronovias site.
