The Dress

Emilia Wickstead dress worn for my wedding - it needs a good dry clean but is crying out for another wearer!

After many delays, we ended up having something of a last minute town hall wedding due to (you guessed it…) covid. Because of my short timescales I wasn’t able to get the bespoke Emilia Wickstead dress I originally planned but instead I bought a ready to wear wedding dress from the designer and was referred to their preferred seamstress who does lots of bespoke work and she added a cape element to the dress to mimic the bespoke dress I had in mind.

The added cape could be removed if you don’t fancy it. It’s sewn in on one side and has buttons on the other (this was so I could put it in by myself in case of another lockdown). You could also have the sewn in side changed to buttons so that you could remove it for dancing. Or you could have it fully sewn in and add buttons down the middle.

As mentioned, the dress needs to be dry cleaned and price reflects that. There are a few light marks on the dress, a couple on the lining (only seen in the inside) and some discolouration on the cape from wear but all very light and the bottom of the cape is very crumpled from being in the garment bag. I’ve tried to show it in the video but the discolouration is very hard to see.

I’m a pretty standard size 8 and 5 ft 4.
