About the Dress
A sleek and simple wedding dress that is timeless. Upgraded to Crepe Silk.
Rebecca Schoneveld is able to mix sizes, so this dress is a 0 bust, 0 waist with a 6 hips/bottom. It was not taken in or out, so the measurements are still factory accurate (Bust -32. Waist - 25. Hips - 39.)
I absolutely loved that the dress was simple enough I could add my own flair. Most of the pictures I have in the dress with my partner I was wearing an embroidered cape, as I was for the ceremony. I took off the cape and added a vintage Czech glass necklace for the reception. This dress would look lovely with a sheer overlay, a beaded belt, or any number of 'extras' you can mix and match during your special day. Or wear it plain as the simple, classic dress it is. (Photo with necklace is me, photo with white brick background is RS's photo).
The dress was professionally cleaned by the Wedding Gown Preservation Co. As I had to open the box to take photos of the gown, I had to re-rig it back into the box. This is just a heads up that it will not come mounted the same way the Wedding Gown Preservation Co does it.
Although the dress is described as a fit and flare by the designer, I want to emphasize that there is no bulk or tulle under the dress near your ankles, it simply becomes looser and hangs to the ground past mid-thigh/just above the knee. I felt incredibly comfortable and sleek in the dress. You can wear a bra with it, as the shoulders are thick enough to hide straps. I chose to wear sticky boobs and high-waisted spanks and felt secure and sexy.
There is one tiny speck, as pictured. It is on the back of the dress, just above the butt, about two inches left of the zipper. There is one larger, extremely faint discolored spot on the front, just below knee high close to center. The cleaner paid extra attention to this spot and it's unnoticeable.
The skirt has three layers. All three were hemmed. The hem is coming out of the inner-most layer in areas. As you'll likely have the dress re-hemmed, this shouldn't be an issue.
Although this particular dress was constructed in 2017, it is such a classic dress (and arguably even more on-trend now), that Rebecca Schoneveld is still selling its sister style on her website today (the Hudson). The Parker is like the Hudson, with just a bit more hug for a form-fitting, flattering silhouette.
Alterations
The dress was hemmed and a pearl button and loop was added on the back to be able to bustle the train. See the photo of the dress bustled!
