The Dress

I'm in love with this dress, rather than keep it in a cupboard I wanted another bride to feel as special as I did on my day and let the dress have another outing!

It's a very classic timeless style, with off the shoulder sleeves that cover the top of the arms (an area I wanted covered!). The pearl belt was an extra that we purchased from the store, it's attached so you don't need to worry about it moving.

The corset back gives such good support across the bust, I was worried about going strapless with my large bust but I didn't have to lift the dress up once all night. The corset gives amazing support and also eased any concerns about weight fluctuations before the big day. It also means the dress is quite adaptable to different sizes and body shapes.

We added an extra pleat of fabric across the bust to give more coverage for my larger bust - this can be very easily removed with no damage to the dress if needed. It was done by a dressmaker and we used fabric from the train of the dress so it matches perfectly.

Alterations

We added an extra layer of fabric to the top (that we took from the train) so that I had more coverage over my bust. You'll see there's two layers across the front where there was initially one. This was done by the dressmaker and was done in a way that can be easily removed without anything being shown from the outside (we did this purposely for re-sale).

A pearl belt was added - purchased from the same shop as the dress.

The length at the front is unaltered, we just shortened the train.

The waist was brought in slightly however given the corset back we didn't need to do this so refrained from further alterations.
