The Dress

The Allure Bridals Collection draws notes of inspiration from iconic bridalwear, modern silhouettes and the glamour of traditional fabrics and detailing.

Embellished spaghetti straps, lightly boned Sweetheart neckline, a fitted illusion bodice and train sprinkled with pearl & lace appliqués adorning the bodice transitioning to a flowing stretch crepe skirt.

Fabric is Stretch Crepe with Lace, tastefully placed sparkly iridescent sequins & Pearl Appliques thoughout the bodice, straps and hemline.

Alterations

Shoulder straps were tightened up. Back straps narrowed (brought closer together toward the zipper for a sleeker aesthetic from the back, (compare pic #3 on form to pic #5 at the alteration shop for the second fitting). Front hemline was altered to PRESERVE the scalloped hem detail on the lace. This was a VERY tedious and expensive ($800) alteration - the lace was completley removed , hem shortened and lace re-sewn onto the hemline to preserve the scalloping pattern (like you would professionally hem a pair of jeans). No alteration or shortening of the train or bustle. Narrowed a bit at the waist, small off the back, low hip top and sides of bust-line.
The original heavy, white, padded cups were removed and a thinner, more natural looking skin tone liner was added (the pads original to the gown made the dress look bulky and gave the bust an artificial "pointed" appearance). Dress was professional cleaned, preserved and boxed at Nichols Hills Cleaners in Oklahoma City - a 10 week process and an additional $400 ( the day after the wedding. It has been kept, undisturbed, in my home.
