The Dress

Bias cut skirt, heavy weight satin.

This dress is an absolutely gorgeous, heavy weight satin that is quite forgiving. I purchased the dress from Mrs Fray, Canberra in 2021 and wore in November 2022 (covid delayed wedding).

This dress is purchased as separates - skirt and top. I didn't love that the skirt and top moved around though sometimes making it look super cropped etc so I got the skirt and top attached, making it a standard dress now.

It turned out perfectly and meant I was super comfortable and could move super freely all day/night without having to worry about the skirt and top moving and having to constantly adjust. The alterations are seamless.

The satin is a lovely heavy weight that sits beautifully and flows really well.

When ordering the skirt, I added length to suit my height at 175cm and a short train (see pictures).

Sizing and Alterations:

This was ordered as a size 15 top (which is a big 12 street size)and size 16 skirt (size 14 street size) to give leeway for alterations.

I ended up getting this altered to fit around a larger 10/smaller 12.

Added a wrist loop to skirt (see photos).
