The Dress

‘Jodene’ by Sassi Holford is cut closer to the body around the hips and legs to define your silhouette. This is a long-sleeved column dress and is made from a beautiful ivory silk crepe. From the front, there is a high neck with long sleeves which make for a modest look, whereas when you turn around, there is a low-open back and this is why I fell in love with the dress! It is a classically simple and timeless dress. I paired it with a chapel length veil with delicate pearls scattered over it which added the most prettiest detail to the dress. This dress is perfect for an Autumnal or Winter wedding.

Condition: My wedding dress was handmade and made-to-order by Sassi Holford and was only worn for around 10 hours on my wedding day. It has since been professionally dry cleaned and is in almost near perfect condition. There is some very slight marking right at the bottom underneath the dress just from general walking outside throughout the day. Happy to share some photos, please just message me!

A little loop with a button was sewn into the lining of the back of the dress to create a bustle so I could hook the dress up in the evening for dancing. The little button has come loose due to dancing but will just need a little sewing to replace the button if a bustle is wanted. However, it is not visible due to it being underneath the material.

Sizing: I am 5 ft 4in and a UK size 12. There have been some sizing alterations on the dress by a professional seamstress, this includes the fit and length. The dress was taken in to fit closer to my figure around my hips and thighs and also taken up in the length to skim the floor when wearing my 3inch wedding heels. Please refer to measurements. It was an absolute dream to wear all day. It was so comfortable and easy to walk and dance in. Its long sleeves were just perfect for our beautiful October wedding day.

Alterations

Alterations: in addition to altering the fit, I had silk ivory buttons added down the bottom. The sleeves are fastened together with a simple ivory button. There are also breast cups sewn into the bust as I did not wear a bra due to the low back. For info, cup size stitched in is 34DD. They can however be easily removed. These cups created a lovely shape and lift to my bust and provided me with excellent support throughout the day.
