The Dress

NOTE: These are not my pictures or description. I purchased this dress to wear for my wedding in 2022 from still white but it ended up being too small so I wore another dress. Price is negotiable. Seller located in Victoria Australia. Dress has been stored in original box since purchase. Seller will have dress dry cleaned prior to sale.

Vivienne Westwood Cocotte with bespoke neckline to add more draping's around the bust and arms.

The dress is a Vivienne Westwood standard size UK 6, it fits tightly around the waist and bust due to the boned internal corset. I was afraid that the corset would be uncomfortable as it was quite tight on me but it was so comfortable to wear even on a hot summer day. Vivienne Westwood sure knows how to make corsets! I assume that it's because of the elastic material that is included in the corset and because of the fact that the corset stops just before the waist, which actually gives you the option to sit down and breathe without it being tight. It was just perfect! The dress would fit a size 6 or 8.

The gown is heavyweight silk and drapes beautifully across the bust and waist. The draping on the lower part of the belly is placed perfectly. I tend to get bloated during the day but because of those drapes, it wasn't visible at all. It is extremely flattering and surprisingly comfortable to wear. I didn't even need to wear any shapewear underneath.
The gown is long as I was over 5.9" including heels, and there is an opportunity to both reduce and add to the length depending on wearer's height.

Condition
The gown is in almost perfect condition as it is worn for only 6 hours during my wedding day (I wore a different dress in the evening).

There is one tiny spot on the back of the gown (just over the knees)however the spot is not noticeable once you wear the dress as it's within one of the drapes. On the last image, you can see the size of the spot and on the image before that you can see that it's not visible once worn as its hiding within one of the folds. I haven't done anything to cover it, that is how the gown falls naturally on the back.

There are a few smaller marks on the INSIDE of the gown on the bottom 3 inches of the train. They are not visible at all from the outside both when worn nor on a hanger. All the marks on the inside have more or less the same colour as the fabric so you really have to look closely inside the dress if you want to spot them. These marks are almost inevitable to get the first few hours on a white, floor-length dress.

To sum up: there are no visible marks/ spots once the dress is worn.
I'm using an eco-friendly dry cleaner to avoid chemicals so you might even be able to remove some of the spots/marks if your dry cleaner is more "effective" than mine.

Alterations
There are two alterations on the dress:
1. The length has been shortened in the front to fit my height (5.9" including heels). This is done without cutting the fabric so if you are taller than me you can have the stiches removed and get more inches in the length.
2. There's been added more draping's in the bust area. I chose this to add more shape and "padding" which is quite flattering on the bust (especially on a small/normal bosom like mine). If you prefer the original look your tailor should be able to take out the stiches that were made for the extra draping and just give it a press/steam.
