The Dress

Maggie Sottero 'Sonnet' satin princess wedding dress in ivory - style discontinued in 2022 so will not be available to purchase new anymore. Price new was £1,650.

Timeless classic bridal look. Flattering A-line style with the right amount of sexiness added with the plunging illusion neckline. Subtle sparkle from sequins on the bodice.

As an extra I bought the matching beaded sonnet belt (as pictured) and had it sewn on.

It has insertable cups to put in (which I did) and so didn’t need a bra which is so handy with the plunging neckline! You could choose to do the same as will include the insertable cups.

Felt super comfortable all day - not heavy or restricting at all. Perfect for a summer or winter wedding (ours was summer and I wasn’t hot in it).

Sizing:
The dress was a 12 (bridal shop 12!) which I altered to fit myself as a size 10. I am 5 foot 5 and wore for half the day in 4 inch heels but changed into converse - it worked for both absolutely no problems!!

Condition:
Obviously worn once!!

As with any wedding dress, it did get dirty at the bottom where it touched the floor however I arranged for it to be dry cleaned within 48 hours of the wedding - I was told speed is the key to ensuring all stains are fully removed! I couldn't spot any stains or marks so it must have worked!

One button did come come off but I found it and have included so it can be reattached. It isn’t a functional button so you could choose not to. Pics included of button and where it has come off.

I paid extra for it to be boxed up in acid free tissue for safe storage. You could store it like (after trying on!) this until closer to your date and use again for storage afterwards.

I will also include a breathable wedding dress bag which I used for storage close to the date to let all creases hang out.

Alterations

The specific measurements listed are the average size 10 with a C cup bust as I don't have access to the exact measurements given to my seamstress.

Added a bit at the back (a loop I think they call it?) so that the long skirt at the back can be hooked up for evening dancing!

Total cost of these alterations was £332 and much of this cost was taking so much off the length and hopefully be a saving to you if you are a similar height.
