The Dress

This "Sapphire" dress is part of award winning British/UK designer Suzanne Neville's 2020 Flores Collection. This is an incredibly well made dress - the quality of the material and well-constructed design cannot be overstated. It was made in England and imported to the US. The dress is a beautiful A-line style with a corset back (hidden inside the outer layer of real buttons!) and pockets. This dress will cinch your waist and made me feel like a beautiful princess on my wedding day! The Mikado Silk is flattering with a slightly heavier weight and a subtle sheen that photographs beautifully.

I purchased this dress in April 2022 from a local atelier - it was a floor sample that had been used as a try-on dress. I had it hemmed to my height (5'9" plus 1/2" flats) and added a bustle but otherwise is unaltered. I had it dry-cleaned and pressed before my wedding at the best wedding dry cleaner in the DC area and it came out absolutely beautifully. I wore it once for my wedding in July 2022. It has not been dry cleaned since the wedding due to the astronomical prices of dry-cleaning in the DC area. There are signs of wear on the metal grommets inside of the corset due to it being a sample dress, but this is not visible when worn. There are also a few small marks on the dress from wear and a small tear in the mesh under the outer skirt. The bustle hooks are still connected, but one of the thread connections came loose during the dancing. Priced to reflect the small imperfections and need for dry cleaning. Sizing notes: I normally wear a US size 12 with an hourglass figure. The dress fits closely in the bust and waist, but had plenty of extra room in the hips. The corset gives you more flexibility in adjusting the tightness the day of the wedding (or after you eat dinner!). The arms were not restrictive as some are of this style - I was able to move and dance freely.

If desired, I can include the veil and the skirt I wore underneath to make the dress poof a bit more (neither are Suzanne Neville brand).
