The Dress

The Ianthe is a beautiful silk sheath wedding dress with a classic neckline and stunning low back.

The material is an excellent quality silk which catches the light and camera beautifully. The dress is a simple classic style, with a low back adding a slight twist.

The dress has a dramatic long train, which I then had bustled for the evening to allow dancing more easily. My seamstress also added a hand loop to assist in lifting the train from the ground.

I felt beautiful in this dress and would love someone else to get just as much joy out of it. I am saddened to hear Amanda Wakeley is no longer producing wedding dresses and would love this classic style to live on.

The dress has been dry cleaned professionally and has absolutely no scuffing/damage to the bottom edges.

This dress would fit a petite UK size 4-6 perfectly. It would likely also fit a UK size 8 as it is not a tight material.

Alterations

This dress was professionally altered from the smallest size made by Amanda Wallet to fit me as seen in the photos.

I am a petite UK size 4/6 and a C cup size. I did not wear a bra with this dress and did not have any cups added.

I’m 5ft3 and wore 4inch heels, with the dress length altered to perfectly sit against the floor. The train was then bustled entirely under the dress for the evening reception as can been seen in the dancing video.

The following alterations were made:
- addition of a wrist loop on the train
- ability to bustle train under the dress
- shortening of the torso and bottom sections of the dress
- narrowing of the dress at the waist level and bust level
