About the Dress
This gorgeous dress is a completely custom made couture gown by the sublime team at Pallas Couture. The bodice is modelled off the Princess Amorette cut from their Destinee Collection. Hand stitched french lace flowers create the straps. I tried on a million designer dresses and this bodice shape was hands down the most flattering that I found. The length and size of the straps makes your body look delicate and your arms look long and slim. My biggest fear was having pudgy arms in photos and honestly you could squish your whole arm against your body in this dress and they would still look slim, it has magical properties!
My Measurements are:
Bust 87cm
Under bust (just underneath bust where bra would be) 76cm
Waist 64.5 cm
Hip (belt area) 84 cm
Hip (around widest bum area) 93 cm
Heel - 10cm heel (heel was a plain 2 cm platform pump which worked well with dress)
Height - 166 cm
The skirt of this gown is completely custom made. For the ceremony I wore a $2000 AUD detachable tulle skirt, with hand stitched matching lace at the waist to create a seamless line with the bodice. This is gorgeous when the sunlight filters through as you can catch a glimpse of your legs through the tulle. It makes you feel like an utter princess whilst being a modern and elegant cut with the heaviness in the tulle at the back of the skirt as opposed to the sides.
This skirt can then be removed later in the evening for the reception to reveal a sheath dress with a small and elegant train which can be pinned up for dancing. Perfect for enjoying the rest of your big day without the hassle of metres of tulle, or having to source a second reception dress. This under skirt was designed by the team at Pallas Couture based on their most recent collection which has a racier sensibility with sheer fabrics and figure hugging silhouettes. The effect is a mini dress covered in hand stitched lace with an art deco feel, this then fades into translucent tulle until the bottom of the full length skirt, where lace and hand stitched flowers tendril up from the lower edges of the gown. This design combines the feel of wearing a shorter reception dress whilst still actually being in a full length gown.
The price I paid for this gown was $12,250 AUD but this doesn't include the four return flights to Australia, accommodation there and all the time spent designing it with the Pallas Couture team. You can take advantage of all my hard work and have your one of a kind dress taken care of already!
I had a wonderful evening in this gown, and my guests were blown away by it. It is hard to tell from the photos but in our wedding video this dress actually sparkles like a diamond in the sunlight. It was my favourite thing about getting married apart from the actual marriage part of course
