The Dress

Do you want to look like a 1940s romantic French movie star mixed with a 2022 classic bombshell? Then this dress is for you. I felt like the star of my own romance movie in this dress, and still danced the night away. This is a discontinued dress, so one of your last chances to write your own love story in this unique gown.

This stunning Sottero & Midgely dress has an incredibly classic look to it while being updated for modern fashion and comfort. It is a very dark ivory - an ecru colour - and is fully lined. Though it looks like lace, the dress is embroidery and beading, that has a very art deco style geometric pattern on the train. The train is also scalloped, making it extremely unique and adding a boho flair. The train is just the right length to give you gravitas, but easy enough to walk down the aisle in. The dress is soft and comfortable to wear - I was even able to zip it up myself. You feel well supported through the bust, despite the cheeky cleavage. It is well fitted through the hips, but you can walk easily in it. The arm holes have a soft mesh down the sides so that your arms are not irritated by any of the embellishment.

The dress has been drycleaned, and is in very good condition, with minimal if no damage to the train and beading.

Alterations

The straps were brought up about two inches to accommodate my proportions. However, the seamstress did not cut anywhere, and the alterations can be let out in case you need a longer strap length. There is also a three-tie bustle which lasted all night! Alterations were extremely well done and invisible to the untrained eye.
