The Dress

About Phillipa Lepley:

A couture wedding dress made in England, from start to finish, at Phillipa Lepley's atelier in Chelsea, London. Phillipa Lepley is widely recognised as being the leading British couture wedding dress designer. I bought this dress in August 2020, from Phillipa Lepley (Fulham Road, London), for my August 2021 wedding at the Corinthia Hotel, London.

Description of the wedding dress:

The high neck wedding dress is in silk slipper satin overlaid in a beaded 3D floral embroidered tulle all individually hand beaded; the dress has a racer neckline offering extra height and glamour to the design with the floral Lily of the Valley embellishments growing around the corset and defined body. The tulle and embroidery is created wider and longer at the train adding luxurious softness and lightness to the design. In addition to the lace-up corset, there are individual buttons at back frame and the high neckline guide the eye up the dress.

Condition:

The dress is in excellent condition as it was worn indoors for approximately 3 hours before changing into a different bridal dress.

I am 5ft 8in tall and 5ft 11in tall when wearing my wedding shoes; the dress falls to the floor with a very long train and can be easily adapted to a bride of a similar or shorter height.

I was informed, by my seamstress, that the style of the dress could also be altered easily by removing the tulle from the neckline, if desired, or reducing the length of the train. I kept the dress in the original style (as shown in the photographs) but I thought this may be worth mentioning to show the versatility and the potential for customising the dress for another bride.

Alterations

The dress was altered by renowned seamstress Charlotte Sweet-Williams of Sewn Right (London). The dress was taken in at the waist/corset. A silk loop was also added to the underside of the train so that the bride can lift the train carefully, if needed. The loop is not visible when walking and can be easily removed.
