The Dress

This is the Alba dress, designed and created by the One Day Bridal team. It is a lovely, simple and timeless gown, with a lovely high neckline and a gorgeous low-back (almost backless) silhouette. It also comes with the original dress bag and a gorgeous simple and classic veil.

The dress is made of a matte jersey crepe fabric, which means it is very comfortable but also super flattering. I found it held me in, but also was not too hot (my wedding was in summer). Because of the simplicity of the fabric and the clever design, it is also much simpler to alter if required than a complex gown.

Regarding the sizing, I am usually a size AU 8 or 10 (bust 90cm, waist 68cm, hips 94cm). The dress is a size 10, but I had it taken in slightly at the sides and the torso shortened slightly by an excellent seamstress, so the alterations are completely undetectable from the original.

Regarding the length, I am 174cm tall and wore 7cm heels on the day. I did have the dress taken up slightly, however there is still plenty of length to play with.

It has been professionally dry cleaned (together with the veil) by Syndal's Dry Cleaners in Armadale. It also comes with the original One Day Bridal storage bag and a classic veil.
