The Dress

I absolutely adored wearing my dress to get married to my wonderful husband, but I live in a teeny tiny place, and I would much prefer it find a new home instead of being crushed in a closet for many years!

I bought this dress new in late fall of 2020 at David’s Bridal, and it is a DB Size 14. At the time my bust measurement was between 43-44.4” and my waist was between [removed]”.

The dress is a soft ivory color, with a full attached petticoat, three layers of tulle/net in the overskirt, a solid ivory underskirt, delicate lace detailing over the entire bodice, a back zipper with hook and eye, and a 28” train (difference measured while hanging from the front hem of the skirt).

It has been altered in the following ways:

-5-point button bustle added (when I unbustled the dress, I tied green thread through each loop so you could easily find them all!);
-Hemmed to accommodate a 5’3” woman in 2” heels (so roughly [removed]”, since it definitely touched the ground);
-Sewn-in bra cups (C-D size) added;
-Shoulders taken in (but not cut off; they were folded over, so this could be easily undone by your seamstress).

I wore this dress for an hour or so for my mini-Wedding on Feb. 15th, and then for my Ceremony/Reception on May 31st. It has been spot-cleaned well, although there remains a small amount of darkening on the hem of the underdress from the outdoors. This could be cleaned off with a damp sponge or by a dry cleaner, but I am unable to do this currently. There are a couple places on the tulle overlay at the hem area that have tiny bits of damage. It is invisible when worn due to the amount of volume in the skirt/train and the three layers of tulle/net in the skirt.

This dress twirls beautifully while dancing, and it was very comfortable in both winter and hot spring. I added a faux-fur wrap (not being sold) for pictures in the snow, and that was perfect.

The dress will come with its original David’s Bridal hanging bag.

I would also be happy to include for no extra cost my simple soft tulle 30” long blusher veil on a comb (also from David’s Bridal) that I wore for my mini-Ceremony for less than an hour.

I can show additional photos on request. (Please note that the jeweled belt in my wedding photo is not for sale.)

Alterations

-Sewn in C/D bra cups—easily removable
-Tightened/shortened shoulder straps—easily lengthened again; nothing was cut, just folded neatly and sewn in place
-Hemmed professionally—I am 5’3.5’, and wore 2” heels
-5-point Button bustle added—invisible when undone; I have added green thread loops on all buttons and bustle loops so you can find them the first time
