About the Dress
Faille fit-to-flare gown with trapunto stitched bodice and sheer organza back panels with floral applique. I chose Nouvelle Amsale because I wanted a Black-owned designer for my wedding, and Amsale Aberra was a Black immigrant designer who is credited with "inventing" the modern wedding gown. Her designs have appeared on runways and on celebrities in film and media since the 1990s. I love this gown because it's elegant, timeless, and quiet in its impact. I felt like my authentic self in this gown. I would love for another bride to feel as beautiful as I did on their wedding day.
I am selling my gown along with my veil, by The Lotus Bloom Company--another Black-owned shop. The veil is tulle with raw edges.
Additionally, my gown has been cleaned and preserved via Wedding Dress Preservation by The Knot, and will be shipped in its museum-quality preservation box.
Alterations
My dress was altered to fit me--the waist was shortened slightly, hemmed, and brought in around the thighs to create more of a trumpet shape.
