The Dress

I purchased this dress on Still White and I absolutely adored it. Unfortunately when it arrived to New Zealand from Scotland, it wasn’t the dress for me (that’s why there are no photos of me in it). Ever since it arrived in Feb, I have kept it in its dress bag and hanging in the wardrobe.

Even though the dress wasn’t for me, I still love so much about it. It glides on and outlines your figure beautifully, it was so comfortable and felt like butter on the skin! It is a luxurious silky wedding dress which is classy yet sexy! The fabric is so lovely to touch and is something you can wear all night.

The previous owner advised that the dress has been dry-cleaned by a bridal specialist within a month of the wedding and has been hung in it's zip tight dress cover ever since.

The dress presents some natural darker marks at the bottom where it is slightly marked from the wear on the day. The previous owner advised it was looked at by a second hand wedding dress specialist who assured that it can be easily fixed by trimming the bottom hem all the way around by a marginal amount (should not affect the look or wear of the dress). I couldn’t really tell when I received it, as the train is long and is going to get dirty on the day anyway.

There are a few flaws from the previous owner from their wedding day.
There is a slight discolouration under the arm pits but I found when I tried it on, I would get it altered and cut out anyway as it sits right under the arm.
Other then that there are 3 marks in random areas over the dress (by the seam, at the bottom and on the thigh by the seam). All 3 are really hard to see unless you are looking very closely.

The dress cost £3600 and I purchased it off Still White from Scotland for $1600 NZD. Unfortunately I didn’t fall in love with the dress on my body and am just looking for my money back, however, I would not refuse a sensible offer.

Alterations

All alterations are from the previous owner and were completed by a professional bridal seamstress. Original bottom hem altered (taken up around full bottom circumference including train). Nude bra (36E) lightly stitched into straps (over shoulders) for extra breast support; the back of the bra was cut away to leave backless look. The bra could be unpicked to return dress to original product if desired. An additional loop ribbon was attached on the inside of the dress/ train to allow bride to have two options for making the dress more manageable; option one is to have a loop ribbon around bride's wrist to list train up as walking, option two is a ribbon tie knot system to tie ribbons and hook dress up for dancing
