The Dress

This is a beautiful Stella York wedding dress. I love the soft ivory color of this dress. I purchased this dress in May 2020 at ‘One Fine Day’ bridal in Fort Wayne, Indiana before knowing how much the pandemic would affect our original Sept 2020 wedding date. Although this dress was absolutely perfect for the original venue (an old historic inn in my hometown), our whole wedding plan shifted and this dress just wasn’t “the one” anymore. This dress hasn’t been altered at all though it easily could be if needed to be taken in or out a few sizes.

The top has a beautiful sweetheart neckline with sheer yolk. The sheer back is accented by lace, and lovely pearly buttons with a tiny sparkly rhinestone on each button. The top has just enough shimmer that will look gorgeous in photographs but definely not over the top.

The bottom of the dress is a flowy a-line style with plenty of length for all the tall girls. Being 5’ 10” myself and wearing ~2-3 inch heels (so, about 6’0” tall within heels on) made this dress the perfect length for me “as is”. But it can easily be hemmed because there is no fancy lace at the bottom needing to be reset by a seamstress. Just a simple snip and it can be the perfect length for you! You could probably even lengthen it more by adding a satin or lacy trim along the bottom.

A word about undergarments… The back of the dress comes up high enough to accommodate/cover shapewear if you are planning to wear on your wedding day. However, the dress has enough structure that you will likely not need it. I don’t believe you would to worry about a bra either because again, the structure of the dress will lend support where needed.

This dress is in flawless condition and has been stored at home in it’s original garment bag. Our home is pet free and smoke free. This dress is PERFECTION.

Final thoughts on the dress…. I consider this dress timeless. I don’t think it will ever go out of style. It’s classic and so romantic.
