The Dress

BEAUTIFUL and UNIQUE 2020 wedding gown from Stella York!

About the gown: I absolutely LOVED this gown, and got SO many compliments during the wedding. The tuxedo-style, v-neck strapless is so different than anything else you see and is very striking coming down the aisle. I tried on over 35 dresses and this one stood out among all the others. It's an ivory color, with a soft crepe top and tulle & lace bottom. Button detail on the back is a fun, dainty surprise. The flower lace along the skirt is delicate and the train is the perfect length. It's a fairly neutral dress, so could be perfect for almost any season, venue, or wedding theme!

About the fit: Lots of breathing room in the skirt, so you don't have to worry about shapewear (which was my favorite part)! I gained a 1-2 pounds between the final fitting and wedding and the top was tighter than I would have liked, but stayed in place and didn't have to "tug" the top! The layers of tulle got a bit hot, but we also had kind of a smaller venue and it was June! Measurements shown above are a few months after the wedding. I've gained about 7 pounds since then, so probably not accurate to what I was on the day-of.

About the bustle: Dress is bustled, but one of the bustles kept coming undone, so someone may want to have an alterations person look to make sure the buttons stayed in place. Also highly recommend having someone video them showing you how to do the bustle. My bridesmaids and wedding coordinator kept losing the bustle loops/buttons in the layers!

This dress is seriously GORGEOUS and not something you see every day. I never had "dress regret" and felt like the most beautiful woman in the world on my wedding day!

Alterations

Taken in on the sides/waist, as I was in between dress sizes and hemmed to fit about 5'2" or 5'3" height. Also regular bustle with 5 buttons was added!
